Arsenal injury news: Arsene Wenger provides update on Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s knee problem
Arsene Wenger hopes Henrikh Mkhitaryan will return from injury in time for Arsenal’s Europa League semi-final.
The Armenian playmaker was missing for the Gunners as they survived a nervy scare at CSKA Moscow to progress to the last-four.
Mkhitaryan limped out of the 4-1 first leg victory with a knee injury and was not available for the trip to Russia, where a 2-2 draw put them through 6-3 on aggregate.
The 29-year-old midfielder has been superb for Arsenal in the competition this season, and Wenger provided an update on his fitness following Thursday’s game.
“The injury is a medial knee ligament strain,” said the Gunners boss.
“He should be out for two more weeks.
“Don't be too worried we have good medical staff and he is very serious in his rehab.”
