I got this device for my son for Christmas. to be sure there's no surprises for Christmas I decided to immediately inspect the phone. The phone arrived with a charger, charging port and Sims removal tool. Upon immediate inspection of the device it can clearly be seen that Even at 12in away the phone has many visible scrapes and scratches on the top portion of the screen as well as many dents around the top and sides of the phone. The screen also has a single dead pixel at the bottom. So far the battery seems to be functioning well as of right now. The back of the phone was a little dirty but seems to be in a "good" condition The item is listed as being in "very good condition" but is actually fair condition.

I recently purchased a phone that was clearly advertised as "new," but to my disappointment, I received an renewed , used device instead.

The phone didn’t come in genuine packaging as the seal on the box is not from Samsung. Also, the a pre-applied screen protector has bubble which shows that the device is not new. The back surface of the phone has a bump out (where the battery is) and it also the back surface has noticeable scratches. Additionally, the charging hub shows signs of wear and tear.

I have contacted Samsung Customer Care and they have confirmed that the phone was activated back in 2021 and was used (not NEW)

This is not just my experience; I’ve read numerous reviews from other customers who have encountered the same issue. It’s concerning that this seller has been misleading customers for over a year.

The misrepresentation of products undermines customer trust and reflects poorly on Walmart's commitment to quality and integrity. I urge Walmart to investigate this matter and take appropriate steps to ensure that customers receive what they pay for. It's essential for the retailer to uphold its reputation by holding sellers accountable for their misleading practices.

I've had the phone for some time and I will say I love the way the device runs. My issue is with the location of the finger print scanner. Many companies claim their screen protector will work with adjusted settings, it has NEVER worked with a screen protector. I've adjusted the touch sensitivity and when I go to register finger prints, they won't scan through the protector. After that happening, there's a loop of hoping I remember every single password that I've long forgotten because I used a finger print that is no longer available due to the unsuccessful attempt at using screen protector and having to delete all fingerprints because of said screen protector. The bare screen alone does not resist scratches as advertised. So, the ultimate choice of having a protected screen or using my fingerprint scanner has left me with an annoying flip case. The design is flawed, I end up keeping as many apps on my Note 9 that I can just because of the convenience of the fingerprint scanner being on the back of the phone. This frustration has come from every failed 2 step verification and bio metric log in.... *sigh*

Overall the phone "worked" at its basic functions but i ended up returning it.

Listening to anything would have weird feedback randomly, a low, long beeping sound for some reason. It was not super loud or super frequent, but it kept happening.

The phone itself was not flat. when you put it on a desk or something it would wobble because 2 corners were higher than the other 2, meaning the frame must have been bent at some point.

Sometimes the battery seemed to drain faster than expected, since the listing claims they all had new batteries in them.

it also had a hard time connecting to some public wifi networks where they have you click a link to sign in to the wifi. My old phone always signed in just fine, this phone kept going in a loop. I had both phones at the same time so i know it was not a network issue.

overall it was just a bunch of little things that made me return the phone because i doubted the phone would be good for several years. I know i bought it refurbished and that can be luck of the draw, but the one i got this time was closer to a bad phone than a good one. I probably could have survived if i kept it, but it would have been an inconvenient phone to try to use.
