One word from God (4)

When God drops a word in your heart, He may tell you to do some unusual things that you never imagined that you could do. An example was the sick leprous man, Naaman, who was directed to go to Israel to meet the servant of God, Elisha. Thank God for servants of God who still hear from the Lord.

When Naaman arrived at the door of Prophet Elisha, instead of Elisha coming to the door to greet Naaman, he sent a messenger to him, saying: “Go and wash in the Jordan River seven times, and your flesh will be restored to you and you shall be clean.” Naaman said no, that is not the usual thing and he refused to go as instructed. He was expecting Elisha to come and waive his hands, lay hands on his sick body, pray, shake and quake and his sickness will be over, but he never knew that the word Elisha received from the Lord for him is to go and wash “yourself in the river Jordan.”

I have told myself; may I not come to a level when I feel I have known how God does His things. God can come in an unusual manner and He can tell you to do somethings that are unusual. A woman was sick and she came to me for prayers. I asked her to go so that I can fast and then, she will come back for prayers. When she came back, God spoke to me to tell her to go and reconcile with the people in her family and she will be healed. The word that I received for her was to go and make peace with her family members. The woman obeyed and went and carried out the instruction. After three days, she came back and said Pastor I have done what you said I should do. I said to her, according to the word of the Lord that I received, you are healed. She was healed of six months old sickness that defiled treatment because God released a word. It was just one word from God.

Sometimes, we run helter-skelter because we have not heard from God. Sometimes, we make some big mistakes in trying to solve our problems because we have not heard from God. When we hear from God, He will releases one word to us that will handle our age-long problems. Elisha said to Naaman, go and wash yourself in the river that is the word I have for you and Naaman went and washed in the dirty Jordan and the story becamea testimony at the end of the day.

God will always beat your plans and surprise you if you come closer and wait upon Him. He may come in a manner you never imagined and He may tell you to do certain things that you never thought of. The word of God is potent and God can never speak and fail to perform His word, He cannot. The Bible said forever the word of God is settled in heaven and on earth (Psalm 119:89).

What others may consider as mere noise and ordinary sound when the Pastor is preaching may be the voice of God speaking to your needs. When you obey that simple word out of all that the pastor has said, the rest will be a testimony because God will stand behind His word to fulfill it.
