that short distance? that means the plane was not flying at up to 200km/hr from Doha to Dubai. and yes, the Hamad International Airport is a monument. you could make the arguement that they take more traffic than Nigeria does. maybe as time goes on and our economy improve, we will pull down the current MMIA we have, and build something like the Daxing airport in Beijing.

Don’t quite understand what you mean by this but Emirates is the only airline that flies to Dubai directly.

So for Qatar airways, there will always be a first stop in Doha and then you can connect on to your next flight. . .

Same as flying Air France and going to Paris first.

PHC to Lagos and back. Where else again? This was the era when air travel became accessible to the common man; my parents were not going to waste the opportunity.

In 2008 I received my nysc call up letter posted to Gombe State, off i went to Jibowu Lagos motor park, boarded a night bus to Jos..(12hrs journey) for the orientation camp @ mallam sidi.

Arrived safely in Jos early hours in the morning around 6a.m, embarked another 4hours journey from Jos to Gombe, my final destination. It was hell. A total distance time travel of 16hours by road, can't even imagine. Immediately I alighted from the Opel vectra car in Gombe, it was like have suffered acute cruciate ligament (ACL) injury and to be ruled out of the whole orientation exercise.

Fast forward after 3weeks in camp. orientation was over and a period of 2weeks break was given to go home and return for primary assignment. Then I kon ask myself this salient question?

How "mush" be this Big bird wey dey fly for up sef?

So I went to a cybercafé, browsed the internet for the airline fares. Gombe - Lagos. None was in existence then, except Jos - Lagos. Gombe - Abuja.
Though, Gombe State just constructed a mini Airport then, in what I can just refer to as an Airstrip and only operational during weekends.

I booked the flight(return)ticket Jos - Lagos - Jos. N28,000 then Aerocontractor. I travelled the usual 4hours road trip from Gombe to Jos, then headed to Yakubu Gowon Airport, which is situated outskirt of Jos metropolis.

The departure time was 4p.m, but as usual, e be like say local airline signed "compulsory delay period " join in their contractual agreement document with Ministry of Aviation.

I checked in at counter and my luggage weighed 22kg, 7kg more than 15kg permits. I was asked to pay for extra 7kg which was later waived off by a good looking, light complexion hour glass figure lady.(Only God knows why). I expressed my gratitude towards her kind gesture and her response was "not too worry".

Funniest thing about the whole experience was that, I wasn't feeling nervous, no feeling of anxiety whatsoever. Thanks to western ( oyinbo) movies wey I don watch taaya.

Back to the matter, Flight slated for 4p.m later arrived 6p.m. So all passengers walked through departure wing majestically in form of a "march past"...lmao... on board the airplane.

I kon go do one f*ck up. Though intentional. My number on boarding pass was 17 and I purposely sat on 16, just because it is closer to window. Thought I was inside Fasola BRT...lol...Na so this woman arrived, with shoulders raised above her head, speaking nice Queen's English.." Excuse me you're on ma' sit" Naso everybody looked back o...dem just dey steer at me, I be like: shey dem no go pursue me for this irrational act so. I apologized subtly and admitted within say "guy, u don fu.ckoyo"

Gently, I reversed to my seat. Fastened my seatbelt and We took off. Departed 6pm arrived Lagos 6.55p.m. We disembarked the airplane, na there my problem start... I was like "shoo"... Naso this thing be... I dey look back, look the aircraft dey juxtapose the suffering I went through by road compared to air. 12 hours trip was reduced to 55mins..."Nna mehn"....

It worth the experience...

Since that day, have had it at back of my mind I must be successful in life. To God be the glory, we've made several flight travels to destination like Seychelles and Johannesburg.

I'm planning of making a flight of "no return" to Houston, Texas by the Grace of God before this year 2021 comes to an end, when I'll be bidding Naija farewell. Make Baba God abeg Grant my heart desire ó.

How does one handle his luggage to make sure nothing gets missing?
Like laptops etc

Put anything important in your carry-on or boarding bag. I always have both with me at all times and never let anyone carry them for me. If you're going on an international trip, put the most important things in your boarding bag. As sometimes, they may run out of room in the plane and force you to check your carry on. You can always put a boarding bag underneath the seat. (I did one international trip with my mom and despite my warnings she put her money in her carryon). It was a pain and obvious arguing the 2 times they asked her to check the carry on in.

As for checked luggage, I use a TSA lock and also a TSA luggage strap especially when I'm landing in Nigeria. If someone really wants to, they can get into both. The goal is deterrence. Make them look for an easier target. Also don't put anything in the front pockets, if your luggage has any. Very easy to unzip and steal from.

Also, put a luggage tag on each bag. On the luggage tag I put my last name, email and a Google Voice number. That way if the airline loses my bag and needs to, they can find me. I don't put my address as if someone else finds it, they know 1.) I'm most likely not home and 2.) where my home is.

And do a google search for the stuff you can't put in your carry on (certain sizes of liquids, etc). I forgot one day and so trashed/gifted the baggage agent a nice bottle of expensive cologne. Oh and know how many bags you're allowed and how much each bag should weigh esp. when leaving Nigerian airports (I'm sure that's how they make most of their money). They weigh boarding bags and carryons as well and they are very particular.

Good Luck.

I'll say my first flight was a flight from Lagos to Abuja, though I'll wouldn't say I really thought it much of it because the journey was to Maiduguri, in which I had to continue the other journey by road so that was fully what fully on mind then, the threaded Maiduguri!!. However subsequent flight from Maiduguri back to Lagos enroute Abuja was cool. One thing I just observed is that flight can be boring if you're not conversing with someone or doing something as apart from ascension and descending period, most of what you just see around is clouds, no landscape, and others you'll see in a land travel

My flight experience was from Lagos to Owerri which was last week, i boarded Dana air line with reg no 9j331 , flight which was meant to depart by 8am was delayed for 5 hours, we finally departed Lagos by 1:45pm. Tho it was a smooth journey, the in-flight entertainment was superb, i was priviledged to meet Ex bbnaija housemate Prince on the same Dana flight, also saw some top politicians there due to the fact that i flew business class. The journey lasted for approximately 50 minutes. The only problem the flight had was while landing at Sam mbakwe airport, the visibility was very low which made it almost impossible, the flight had to taxy round the runway before being given clearance. Still anticipating for my return trip to lagos which will be by March

The point is that Lufthansa does not fly from Lagos to Berlin. It is Lagos to Frankfurt.
Except you are saying that the flight was Lagos to Frankfurt to Berlin to China, which I don't see as likely.
Most Lufthansa international flights depart from Frankfurt.

Travelled from Uyo (Akwa Ibom) to Lagos via Air Peace
It was a smooth ride, but mehn, I pray tire, in short at a point I started speaking in tongue, the fear no be here oo.
It was a night flight, from 8:30pm - 9:40pm, but we took off about 10 minutes before time and it did not last up to an 1:10 minutes because we touched down at 9:24pm.
We are asked to switch off our phones, so it was boring at a time, thank God I was with my laptop and I started coding, before I knew it, we are already in Lagos.
When we gained altitude, at a point, it was as if the plane is no longer moving, everything was still, and if I look through the window, it was just one red light I was able to spot, and it was not moving fast, that is when fear set in, in my mind, are you sure this flight is actually moving or it just hang, though after sometime, the captain introduced himself and said by our right is Benin city and we are flying at 34,000 feet above sea level.
The beauty of the flight is when we got to Lagos, you could see street lights, car headlights, and other light, it was a beauty to behold, I ON my phone to capture the site, but the Air hostess asked us to switch it off because at that point, they must Off the lights in the flight, so the phone light will show and everybody will know that you On your phone,.
It was fun,

And why do dey switch off phone while traveling on Air?
