Updates on American affairs presented in this episode of Samri Channel.
Where tension is still at its peak between Washington and the state of Texas, since the administration of US President Joe Biden achieved an important victory over Texas Governor Greg Abbott, after the Supreme Court ruled by a majority of 5 to 4 to temporarily remove the barbed wire along the southern border of the state.

This decision then and still angers Republicans who support the measures taken by Abbott and his administration to combat illegal immigration in the state. However, this tension was not limited to mere anger, as fears of a “civil war” began to escalate.

Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick indicated that the state would not back down from its position. He stressed in an interview on Fox News when asked whether there was a possibility of a civil war erupting, that “Texas is adhering to its constitutional right.” He also added, "We believe that we are right, and we have the right to defend our citizens, and for this country, we are only doing our job." Speaking about the state's border guards, he continued, "These young women and men who serve our National Guard and our Public Security Directorate are the best!"

It is noteworthy that the Supreme Court's decision to send members of the Federal Border Guard to remove the barbed wire erected by the Texas state government, brought back concern about possible chaos and the specter of civil war, amid negotiations taking place between Republicans and Democrats over a new draft law regulating immigration. While President Joe Biden pledged to implement this law, if passed, in order to “close” the border with Mexico if it witnesses large influxes of illegal immigrants.

Note that this project or agreement being negotiated between the two parties goes beyond addressing Americans’ concerns about the massive influx of migrants through Mexico, as it also includes providing Ukraine with vital military aid. This agreement almost entered into force a few days ago, and it requires exchanging the approval of aid to Kiev, one of Biden's priorities, with providing funding to tighten border security, in accordance with Republican demands. Deputy White House spokeswoman Olivia Dalton said that the Biden administration is working "in good faith" with Republicans to reach an agreement, expressing her hope that everyone will remain "at the negotiating table so that we can do this."

In Texas, the matter is not limited to the dispute between Democrats and Republicans, but also extends to renewed calls within the state to declare its secession from the United States of America. In 1836, Texas declared its independence from Mexico, and its independent republic lived for about 10 years, during which it was recognized by the United States itself and European countries such as Britain and France. The Republic of Texas had its own constitution, flag, and government, but was not officially recognized by Mexico, according to a previous BBC report.

But although it was a short-lived country, it had a huge impact on the history of the United States. The path to Texas independence began in the early nineteenth century, when Mexico gained its independence from Spain in 1821. The new Mexican government encouraged American settlers to move to Texas, which was then part of Mexico. This state is located in the south-central United States. It is the second largest state in area after Alaska, and in population after California. It is nicknamed the “Lone Star” state, as the Spanish arrived in this region in 1528.

Fears of a civil war in the United States have escalated against the backdrop of sending forces from the National Guard of Republican states to the state of Texas, in defiance of the administration of President Joe Biden and federal forces. Several Republican-led states began sending National Guard members months ago to combat the increasing waves of migrants on the border between the United States and Mexico, with one state saying “nothing is on the table” as tensions escalate between Texas Governor Greg Abbott and the Biden administration.

This Texas threat is just as empty as a basket "filled with water". It's just a matter of time for the governor to either be impeached or lose to another.

A governor and his cabinet cannot move against the will of its people. As far as we all know, this is just a political battle where the Democrats want to use illegal immigrants to win election for Biden. However, Texas as a state won't be interested in moving away from the mighty US whom people are dreaming to join its NATO. And calling for a coup in the US is like pouring water into a large basket, because it will never be filled. There are nations that can actually suffer coup and it happens with the suffering of the masses. In fact, such a thing in the US can't exist. I think this governor is trying to impress Trump so that it will look ad if he's actually doing something about his emergence.
